Boss David, an El Paso native, was thrilled to be able to promote his beloved home town at SXSW 2017. I’m going to say that, yes, it is a lovely city, and it has such amazing immediate surroundings. As an outdoorsy guy, two of my favorite national parks (the Guadalupe Mountains and Big Bend) are nearby. As a self-styled taco connoisseur, well, there’s no shortage of tacos in El Paso. And as an admirer of old architecture, El Paso scratches my itch.
If that kind of stuff appeals to you, maybe you should visit El Paso.
Visit El Paso selected the following options for their campaign:
Full wraps and Wheel covers, from our Ad printing menu. They fully wrapped 10 pedicabs, and covered all 30 of their wheels.
Driver-for-hire, from our Driver engagement menu. Sunny Amigo Man (El Paso’s mascot and goodwill ambassador) was given one 3-hour tour per day for 4 days, for a total of 12 hours. We would visit wherever there were crowds, where he could pose for pictures and his handler could distribute stickers and candies. People really love Amigo Man(, and I do, too).
In addition, we provided Viewfinders with images of El Paso for the passengers (by attaching them to handlebars that were installed to the drivers’ seat posts), and they inquired how many impressions our Visit El Paso posts received on social media. It was approximately 38,000+ views.
As luck would have it, the Visit El Paso pedicabs were also licensed to operate in Houston. We returned to Houston to finish out their Livestock Show & Rodeo after SXSW ended, and the Visit El Paso ads were seen hundreds of thousands more times.
Their campaign is part of our Visitor’s bureaus portfolio. (We also worked together in 2018 and 2019.)
