This website has the grandiose name of “Austin Pedicab Alliance”. “Alliance” is a bit of a stretch, in that it is currently edited and maintained by a single person (Ken Cameron as of July 8, 2008).
I encourage anyone involved in the Austin pedicab community who would like to contribute to the site, and perhaps offer different points of views to contact me.

Over time, I hope that groups like a pedicab drivers guild for Indy riders, pedicab drivers union for riders that rent equipment, and various co-ops or collectives for insurance and pedicab storage purposes will develop. These organizations could provide much of the economies of scale, and checks and balances that are in place for larger single owner pedicab companies while saving pedicab drivers money, and providing additional stability to the community.
I could also see a role for a group that offers small loans to people wanting to go Indy, but can’t save enough money to buy a pedicab while paying rent to a single owner pedicab company.
