Injured Pedi-Cab Driver Works With Police to Find Runaway Driver
Created: Thursday, 20 Sep 2007, 5:24 PM CDTAUSTIN — An Austin pedicab driver who was hit by a car is working with Austin Police to find the driver.
The driver and two passengers were injured in the crash that knocked the bike taxi off the road, and up onto the curb on the Ann Richards Bridge on South Congress.
The driver says he’s feeling better, except for some back pain.
But one of the passengers isn’t doing quite as well.
“He doesn’t remember anything. And I don’t mean he doesn’t remember anything about the wreck, he doesn’t remember anything. He doesn’t remember his family. He doesn’t recognize his family, his wife and two kids. I consider myself very lucky and I hope he gets better,” says the Pedi-cab driver, Russell Stinnett.
There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
APD says the suspect car is a black sports car with tinted windows with damage to the front bumper.
